inspired by… garlands!
Garlands are a simple, cost effective way to add a lot of ambience to event decor. Whether they’re streamers, banners, greenery–even fans or crêpe paper poufs!–there’s always something airy and homespun about them. They can be any color, or any style, and hung in any way, so they’re easy to personalize, and totally adaptable!
Garlands can serve as ceremony markers, centerpieces, or they can even become a guestbook technique:
Give guests pennants to sign and clothespins to hang them. (Make sure to have a piece of twine, ribbon, or rope hung and at the ready!) . You can let guests take polaroids of themselves, sign them, and hang them up the same way. Instant decor!
You can personalize a banner with initials or an emblem that continues your theme. Just make a stamp or decal, create an assembly line, print, and hang.
Garlands are a great fit for cozy, backyard-type weddings as a light breeze will really bring them to life. (Not to mention, they look great with vintage pieces). But if you’re going more formal at an event, it’s easy to up the style-factor through material type or display technique!
